About Us

Carrsview Murray Greys is located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills between Lobethal and Birdwood. We currently run a herd of 70 breeding females over two properties. The stud originally grew from a small purchase of commercial females from the Redaway lines and then in 2014 a Murray Grey bull and six stud heifers were purchased from the Fairview Ridge Murray Grey Stud in Hahndorf S.A.  After many conversations with Geoff and Julie from Fairview Ridge we decided to establish our own Murray Grey stud in 2016.
We chose the Murray Greys for their docility as well as there doing ability in the Adelaide Hills. Over the years we have bought a number of registered females from studs in Australia such as Woodbourn (TAS), Glenliam Farm (NSW) and Lindsay Murray Greys (VIC) and we look to AI a group of females each year to help improve our genetics.
Although we were seriously impacted by the Cuddlee Creek fires, we have come out the other side and continue to aim for not only continuous success in the show ring but to ensure we breed outstanding stud bulls and cows which will add value to any commercial herds. Our aim is to breed low birth weight, high growth animals and combined with Breedplan data with actual animal growth, structure, and temperament to select our breeding stock and sale bulls.
